Slum Population
The
United Nation defines Slum as “is a
run-down area of a city characterized by substandard housing, squalor, and
lacking in tenure security”. There are 1 billion slum populations in the
world and the figure will double up to 2 Billion by 2030. Slum population rate worldwide
is decreasing from 47% to 37% from 1990-2005 but overall population is
increasing thus number of slum population is swelling.
